Summary
An "unsupported OS/browser error combination" occurs when you try to access a website or application using an operating system (OS) or web browser that the developer no longer supports. This means the website or application may not work properly, display incorrectly, or even be completely inaccessible on your device. The following section provides a scenario and ways to fix this issue.
Common Issues
As shown above, applications such as the CAASPP SecureTestBrowser will display the "Unsupported OS/Browser Combination" error if the operating system is outdated. To ensure smooth operation, the following section provides step-by-step instructions on how to update your Chromebook.
Updating Chromebook
1. At the bottom right of your screen, click on the time, then click on Settings as represented by the cogwheel ⚙️.
Note: It may look different from the picture above, but the process is still the same.
2. On the left panel, select About ChromeOS.
3. On the right panel under "Google ChromeOS," select Check for updates.
Note: If the update seems frozen and does not show a percentage increase, click the REFRESH 🔃 button located on the top of the keyboard as shown in the picture below. You may also exit out of the window and do the process again.
4. Once completed, click Restart.
Tip: You may be required to do this process once or twice to get to the latest version.
